Five experienced trial lawyers from Houston’s Alavi Anaipakos are being recognized in the 2024 Lawdragon 500 Leading Litigators in America listing based on their years of successful work in intellectual property cases and complex business disputes.
Firm founder Amir Alavi is listed in the latest Lawdragon rankings for his representation of clients in intellectual property trials, and fellow firm founder Demetrios Anaipakos is recognized for his work in both intellectual property and commercial litigation.
Fellow firm partners Masood Anjom, Scott Clark, and Michael McBride earned spots on the list of the country’s best trial attorneys for their work in intellectual property and patent trials.
The Lawdragon rankings are based on research by the publisher, submissions from law firms, and an extensive vetting process.
The same five Alavi Anaipakos lawyers recently were recognized in the 2024 edition of The Best Lawyers in America along with Brian Simmons and Joshua Wyde, who are of counsel at the firm. Fellow of counsel Justin Chen was named to the Best Lawyers Ones to Watch list. All the honorees earned rankings for their work in intellectual property and commercial cases.
The attorneys at Alavi Anaipakos have continued their run of courtroom successes for clients since the firm was launched last year. Those wins include completely invalidating a patent that had been wielded against the firm’s client and a large group of its competitors in the poultry processing industry. The ruling handed down in Arkansas federal court followed the firm’s arguments in a Markman claim construction hearing contesting the patent’s validity.
Alavi Anaipakos scored another win protecting multiple companies in the oilfield equipment industry earlier this year with a judgment from the Patent Trial and Appeal Board in favor of the firm’s client. After the PTAB found that 21 claims of the contested patent were unpatentable under a preponderance of the evidence, the plaintiff dropped similar lawsuits against multiple additional defendants.
