Alavi Anaipakos welcomes the addition of Callie Pendergrass as a Senior Patent Agent.
Ms. Pendergrass expands the firm’s roster of experienced technical professionals dedicated to intellectual property law. Her knowledge of electronics, software engineering, physics, and control systems allows her to navigate intricate patent disputes and inter partes reviews (IPRs).
She has been a leading figure in drafting IPRs, achieving an exceptional lifetime institution rate of 90%, significantly higher than the Patent Trial and Appeal Board’s average of 60% since 2020. In one case, a patent holder abandoned over half of the contested claims after IPRs initiated by Ms. Pendergrass on behalf of a major consumer electronics innovator. Cases like that explain why she has been ranked among the top IPR practitioners for petitioners in the country by Patexia, an independent research group.
Ms. Pendergrass received her master’s in system science and applied mathematics at Washington University in Saint Louis, where she also earned her bachelor’s in system science engineering with a minor in robotics. She also earned a bachelor’s in physics with a minor in mathematics from Drury University and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
